Jonathan Carris, Of Counsel

Jonathan Carris, Of Counsel with Cantley* Dietrich, LLC. and Founder of CarrisLegal PLLC, focuses his practice on Tax with an emphasis on credits and negotiated incentives. Prior to his work with Cantley* Dietrich, Jon leveraged over fifteen years of tax experience in both the legal services and public accounting industries to provide significant benefit to his clients federal and state and local taxation (“SALT”) needs. Jon has served as a trusted advisor to high net worth individuals and business owner clients on their business, taxation, and estate plan development and implementation. Corporations and multi-billion dollar financial services holding companies have trusted Jon’s knowledge base in: tax credits and negotiated incentives; complicated tax compliance matters; exempt organizations and not-for-profit; trusts and estates; and consulting and mitigation for income, franchise, sales and use, and premium taxes.

Jon has Big 4 Accounting experience with Deloitte & Touche, PricewaterhouseCooper’s (PwC) National Credits and Incentives Network and later served as the SALT Practice Leader for Moss Adams LLP in Houston, Texas, and has served as a board of director for the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association (TTARA).

Mr. Carris graduated from Brigham Young University, then obtained his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law. He is a member of the Texas State Bar and the Connecticut State Bar. Jon is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court, the U.S. Northern District Court of Texas, and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
